Prayer to St. Boniface

Saint Boniface, you faced discouragement and failure and learned from them.

Help us to hear God's message in our moments of failure and to use what we learn to serve God better. Amen

St. Clare
(1194-1253) Patroness of our Eucharistic Chapel, (canonized 1255), Memorial – Aug 11th

God of mercy, you inspired Clare with the love of poverty. By the help of her prayers may we follow Christ in poverty of spirit and come to the joyful vision of your glory in the kingdom of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

The North American Martyrs
(1642-1649) Sts. Isaac Jogues, John de Brebeuf and Companions, (canonized 1930) Memorial – Oct 19th

Father, you consecrated the first beginnings of the faith in North America by the preaching and martyrdom of Saints John and Isaac and their companions. By the help of their prayers may the Christian faith continue to grow throughout the world. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint Frances Cabrini
(1850-1917) First U.S. Citizen to be Canonized (canonized 1946), Memorial – Dec 22nd

O God, through the work of St. Frances Cabrini you brought comfort and love to the immigrants and those in need. May her example and work be continued in the lives of all those dedicated to you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
(1774-1821) First U.S. Born Saint, (canonized 1975), Memorial – January 4th

Lord God, you blessed Elizabeth Seton with gifts of grace as wife and mother, educator and foundress, so that she might spend her life in service to your people. Through her example and prayers may we learn to express our love for you in love for our fellow men and women. We ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, you Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Saint John Newmann
First U.S. Bishop to be Canonized ,(canonized 1977), Memorial – Jan 5th

Father, you called John Neumann to labor for the gospel among the people of the United States. His ministry strengthened many others in the Christian faith: through his prayers may faith grow strong in this land. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne
(1769-1852) Evangelized Native Americans, (canonized 1988), Memorial – Nov 18th

Gracious God, you filled the heart of Philippine Duchesne with charity and missionary zeal, and gave her the desire to make you known to all peoples. Fill us who honor her memory with that same love and zeal, and extend your kingdom to the ends of the earth. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint Katharine Drexel
(1858-1955) Evangelized African and Native Americans (canonized 2000), Memorial, Mar 3rd

Ever loving God, you called Katharine Drexel to teach the message of the gospel and to bring the life of the Eucharist to the African and Native American peoples. By her prayers and example, enable us to work for justice among the poor and oppressed, and keep us undivided in love in the eucharistic community of your Church. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
(1656-1680) "Lily of the Mohawks," First Native American Beatified (beatified 1980), Memorial, July 14th

O God, who, among the many marvels of your grace in the New World, did cause to blossom on the banks of the Mohawk and of the St. Lawrence, the pure and tender Lily, Kateri Tekakwitha, grant we beseech you, the favor we beg through her intercession; that this Young Lover of Jesus and of his cross may soon be counted among her saints by Holy Mother Church, and that our hearts may be enkindled with a stronger desire to imitate her innocence and faith. We ask this through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessed Junipero Serra
(1713-1784) "Founder of the California Missions" (beatified 1988), Memorial, July 1st

God most high, your servant Junipero Serra brought the gospel of Christ to the people of Mexico and California and firmly established the church among them. By his intercession, and through the example of his evangelical zeal, inspire us to be faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ. Grant him the title and honor of Sainthood. We ask this through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
